The Swedish Armed Force Will Acquire 3,000 IDV MUV 4X4 Tactical Vehicles

Italian company IDV (Iveco Defense Vehicles), which specializes in the production of special defense and civil vehicles, has signed a framework agreement (FWA) with the Swedish Defense Materials Administration.

This agreement is to provide a Light Multi Purpose Vehicle for the Swedish Armed Forces.

In the initial stage, IDV will supply 400 MUV 4x4 (Military Utility Vehicle) vehicles worth $80 million.

In the cooperation agreement, the total is to supply 3,000 vehicles.

With the Framework Agreement extended for four years from 2023 to 2027 and the option to extend the agreement for another five years.

The 4X4 MUV is available in 12 different variants including troop transport vehicles, medical variant vehicles, communication vehicles, logistics vehicles, and dog transport vehicles.

IDV developed the 4X4 MUV to be the successor to the M40E15-WM, a versatile vehicle that is tough according to military and NATO standards.

With a GVW of up to 7 tonnes, this vehicle is designed to carry a maximum payload of up to 4 tonnes.

This 4×4 vehicle is designed to operate in even the harshest environments, including extreme temperatures from -32°C to +49°C.
